Learning Options Trading
One Trade at a time

I’m documenting my journey into trading: the wins, the mistakes, and the lessons.

Tools I Use

From Research to Trade – My Workflow

Trading isn’t just about clicking buy or sell — it’s about having a process. This workflow keeps me disciplined, helps me learn from every trade, and makes the journey transparent for anyone who wants to follow along.

Input

This is where I pick an Options strategy, for example Iron Condor, Vertical Spreads, Long Options and set my trading rules. For example only risking $200 per trade.

Process

I use the paper trading account on IBKR, this allows me to test strategy without using real money. I think use a python code to implement the strategy with the defined rules.

Output

Python will post the recommended trade on Discord. I then test these out to see which ones work and which ones fail. Once I get to 90% accuracy I will switch to a real account.

Discover My Journey So Far

Learning to trade options has been an exciting and challenging adventure. I started by exploring strategies designed to manage risk and generate consistent returns, beginning with cash-secured puts to build a solid foundation.

ongoing Learning

This journey is ongoing—each step brings new lessons in risk management, discipline, and strategy refinement. My goal is to continue developing my skills and sharing what I learn along the way, so others can follow a clear path in their own trading journeys.

Practicing & Patience

As my confidence grew, I took the next step into credit spreads, learning how to balance potential profit with defined risk. Most recently, I’ve been practicing the iron condor, a strategy that requires patience and precision, while teaching me how to manage trades within a range.

The mindset

Beyond the numbers, trading has taught me the importance of patience, resilience, and thinking long-term. Developing the right mindset has been key to staying focused and making better decisions.”
